"We went from the Quake 2 and the Quake 4 Strogg universe. We are at least tossing around the possibilities of going back to the bizarre, mixed up Cthulhu-ish Quake 1 world and rebooting that direction.

Good news. A few months ago I finally registered Quake, and I've enjoyed the rest of the single player missions so far.

I don't do this often, but I also downloaded the soundtrack so that I could enjoy the game with the proper ambiance as well. I have no reservations for doing this; I bought the game through id's own site, I just didn't get a CD. Anyway I've found that it adds a substantial amount of atmosphere to the game. My favorite "song" is probably the strange synthetics that play on E1M6.
