Re: linux: ELF file OS ABI invalid

If you haven't noticed, I've released the source. compile it against whatever you want. I don't guarantee anything with old versions of the standard C library, though. You're on your own with that one.

Re: SDK patch error

Good to know, thank you. The source also has varying line endings but msvc++ shouldn't have a problem with that. Windows, linux, and mac all have different line endings for text files. Pretty basic stuff. What's not basic is windows programmers using diff patches - something I expect to hear a lot o...

Re: linux: ELF file OS ABI invalid

when I get a chance I will compile against gcc 4.0 and send it to you (if it works).

if it works, then I highly recommend updating your system anyway.

I hope to release the source as soon as some of the demo bugs have been fixed. sit tight.

Re: linux: ELF file OS ABI invalid

why would we compile against old obsolete software for the sake of those who can't bother to stay updated? there are important stability, security, and efficiency fixes in each release of gcc/glibc. Would you also try to run Doom3 on windows 98 and complain that it's id's fault when it doesn't work?...

Re: HOw to install mod

deadite4 wrote:Why is it copying the dll to .doom3/eoc as opposed to games/doom3/eoc where the mod is located?

because normal users don't have write access to /usr (nor should they), it will save to the users hoem directory in .doom3.

Re: Persistent data ain't so persistent

persistent level info was one of my primary concerns. I felt it could use a lot more testing, but it seemed to be functional enough to finish the game without much problem.

this is noted and will be fixed in the next release.

Re: linux: ELF file OS ABI invalid

I'm not sure what that means. I looked up ABI and found this: http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Application+Binary+Interface my first guess is to check the MD5 sum, but I assume deadite already confirmed that. my second guess is that there's a lib that doom3 uses which isn't quite right. pl...

Re: Wrong game DLL API version

no, you silly, silly gooses.

1.3.1302 is NOT 1.3.1 patched
1.3.1304 is NOT 1.3.1 patched

the version you need to see in console is 1.3.1.1304

Re: HOw to install mod

try starting doom3 from a xterm with `doom3 +set fs_game eoc`

eoc should be the name of the folder hexen resides in within your doom3 directory ( usually ~/.doom3/ ).

what distribution ar eyou using?
how did you install the mod?

Deadite, is "eoc" the name we packed it up into?

Re: CD Key Issue

you could try the 'ol doom3-1.3.1-patch-over-steam-doom3 trick, if it's a steam problem.

if this were a linux issue, I'd say to make sure the doomkey and xpkey files in the base/ and d3xp/ folders have proper write permissions.

Re: Steam version

here's a neat trick I read over at doomworld.com: install the doom3 1.3.1 patch over the steam version and you now have a non-steam copy of Doom3.

I don't vouch for the trick as I haven't tried it.

Have a Bug? Email us your SaveGame File!

anyone having a buggy game can email me the savegame file and an explanation of what the bug is or (preferably) how to repeat it once loading your save game. I can debug from there and hopefully squash these bugs for the next release.

Your inventory should retain all items as long as you're playing the game as intended. If it does not, please specify steps to reproduce the bug and we'll do our best to fix it for the next release. Also the poison vials (which are called Flechettes) will be rigged to give you time to get away in th...
